More Details of the Accident
Two young daughters of an Arkansas pastor were tragically killed when their truck was hit by a train on Thursday, injuring the preacher and his infant son.
Chad Fryar, 37, a pastor of Crossroads Cowboy Church, was driving through Clark County, Arkansas, on May 27 when he was killed in a car accident. A northbound train slammed into the passenger side of the truck as it crossed the tracks, dragging it for approximately a half-mile.
Fryar’s two daughters, Marley Jo and Dana Kate, died, and Chad and his son, Bo Henry, are critically ill. According to a crash summary obtained by local media outlets, Fryar was driving his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado when the collision occurred around 1:45pm.
The Arkadelphian reports that there are crossbuck stop signs on both sides of the tracks, but no flashing lights or crossing gates to warn of approaching trains.
After their vehicle was damaged, the father of three was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, more than 50 miles away. Bo Henry was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with unspecified injuries. It is unknown where each child was seated in the automobile at the time of the accident. The Crossroads Cowboy Church said over the weekend that Fryar and his little son were recovering from their injuries.
‘Chad is upbeat and behaving normally. Doctors are presently debating the length of his stay, although he is being followed in the ICU,’ it stated.
‘Bo Henry’s operation went better than predicted last night, and they’re managing his pain, he’s being a warrior,’ the message continued, before announcing that he had been discharged from the pediatric intensive care unit.
According to Crossroads officials, Rachel, Chad’s wife and the mother of all three children, is also at the hospital and has spoken with her husband.
